Having been blessed with a glorious Sunday morning weather-wise, the first Breakfast at JD’s was a resounding success. The benign climate gave our guest classic car/supercar owners and enthusiasts ideal driving conditions on their journeys to our purpose-built premises in Chelmsford. And the good mood everyone arrived with seemed to last all morning, which helped give our complex a uniquely pleasant atmosphere we rarely get to experience on such a large scale on site.

Around 250 eager enthusiasts had arrived and were given a guided tour of our facilities. Petrol heads of various octane levels assured us they had a great time drooling over pedigree models from some of the world’s most prestigious motoring brands, whilst listening intently to our passion for bringing such legends to life.

They all took the opportunity to see the many cars available in our showrooms, as well as the comprehensive range of services that JD Classics have to offer. Several couldn’t quite believe we did so much of our work in-house until they saw it with their own eyes. And a number were pleasantly surprised we worked to such a high standard on so many marques other than Jaguars.

The raffle held in aid of The Essex Air Ambulance produced the unexpected, too. One youngster not yet in his teens received an exciting ride in a genuine 1954 British racing green Jaguar D-Type, driven by founder and managing director Derek Hood (who to his credit freely admitted that it was the vehicle rather than the driver that carried the biggest thrill for the young devotee).

The next open day is being held on July 19th. So if you want to come along, our day starts at 8.30am and doors close at 11.00am. Individual classic car and modern supercar enthusiasts can simply turn up on the day. But if you’d like to bring a group of club members along, do call Micky Collins on +44 (0)1621 850910 first, as such access is allocated on a strict first-come, first-served basis.

If you can make it, do join us! Not only will you be able to feast your eyes on some amazing classic cars and modern supercars, you can enjoy a good value, well-prepared breakfast for sale on our premises, too – just as long as you promise not to get anything resembling ketchup, brown sauce or grubby prints near the vehicles…
