Readers of these news pages may well recall a Jaguar XK150 S we restored to concours standard. Within nine heady days back in August 2007, it had won not one but two successive concours competitions.

The owner was subsequently invited to represent the Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club at the Classic Car Show, held at the Birmingham NEC, UK in November 2007.

On the face of it, this was a huge privilege. The Meguiars Club Showcase is, in effect, the major marque clubs' grand finale. 16 of the best show cars of the 2007 UK national concours scene compete against each other in a showcase to find the Champion of Champions.

And all of them were a joy to see. But with such a stunning array of classics on display, you can imagine the glory at stake. Many of these highly prized sensations would be unlikely to get such a prestigious airing before next Spring. And none of their owners could wish for a bigger stage on the UK concours scene to prove their worth.

There could be no real losers amongst such a fantastic selection of winners. But imagine if you will the sublime cocktail of joy, exhilaration, satisfaction as well as relief when our client's XK150 S was announced as the overall champion.

To say we were pretty chuffed would be an understatement! Every classic car restorer passionate about their craft dreams of giving their customers incredible moments like these. And yet, when those dreams actually come true, it's not easy to find the right words to describe such an amazing sense of reward.

But if you would like us to help you feel such glories like this for yourself, do get in touch. And if that eventually means we're left grappling with the limits of language yet again, that's a price we'd be very willing to pay on your behalf!
