Britain’s prestigious race tour for historic cars, Tour Britannia, is a relatively new event on the British racing scene. But its unique appeal is catching on quickly. And it’s easy to see why.

As Britain's only historic race tour, this year’s three-day event was blessed with wonderful weather and great scenery. Over 90 gloriously classic cars enjoyed a cocktail of stages that included road rally sections, hill climbs, closed speed trials and circuit racing, across nine locations throughout southern England.

The range of cars competing pooled to create an amazing mixed brew, too. Classics such as Shelby Mustang GT350s, Triumph TR4s, several Porsche 911s and Morris Mini Coopers all blended beautifully to form a panoply of motoring history.

Three of our overseas clients asked us to prepare their cars to be added to the mix. A 1965 AC Cobra 289 MkII (ex-factory works), a Roger Clark Ford Escort RS 1600 BDA rally car and a genuine Datsun 240Z Super Samurai were all full restored and competition prepared in our workshops.

It’s always a challenge preparing classic cars for such testing conditions. But our garland-winning Race Car Team’s extensive experience means that there are very few classic racing car challenges we’re unable to meet.

As a result, all three cars completed the gruelling three-day racing schedule without mechanical failure: each one running superbly, due to our professional and detailed preparation.

Which meant that our clients were able to revel in the uninterrupted privilege of racing at legendary locations such as Brands Hatch, Donington Park and the world’s first, purpose-built motor-racing circuit at Brooklands. All three were ecstatic from their amazing experience and were thoroughly looking forward to taking the chequered flag with our Race Car Team behind them again in 2008.
