Description

Introducing an exceptional and truly unique offering, the modernized 'one-of-a-kind' E-Type: a car that embodies the spirit of the legendary Jaguar while embracing the performance and drivability of a contemporary sports car. This extraordinary vehicle, owned by esteemed Jaguar historian and executive editor of Jaguar World, Jim Patten, has garnered significant attention in the press, with features in Jaguar World Magazine showcasing its remarkable story.

With a lifelong passion for Jaguars, Jim Patten's deep understanding of the marque guided the vision behind this extraordinary E-Type creation. Drawing upon his extensive experience, he meticulously curated the finest elements to build the ultimate touring E-Type, complementing his wife's impeccable open two-seater variant. The journey began with a rust-free California car, equipped with a 302 cubic inch Ford V8 engine. To transform it into a masterpiece, the shell was entrusted to CL Classics, known for their exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. Their expertise involved a comprehensive restoration process, stripping the shell to bare metal and replacing the floor pans while addressing minor parking lot dents. New E-Type Fabs engine frames were also fitted to ensure the highest level of quality and performance.

With a focus on achieving excellence in every aspect, a new factory engine block and crankshaft were sourced, along with a low-mileage cylinder head. To enhance modern drivability, a Medatronics 5-speed gearbox, renowned for its performance on events like the Carrera PanAmericana, was incorporated. In collaboration with Emerald M3D, a state-of-the-art fuel injection and engine management system was developed, seamlessly integrated with the revered Mangoletsi inlet manifold and throttle housing, designed specifically for this project. The improved throttle pedal assembly offers instantaneous response and smooth power delivery, ensuring an exhilarating driving experience.

Recognizing the car's potential for extensive mileage in warm climates, Clayton air-conditioning was installed, accompanied by Zircolflex heat management material and Dynomat insulation throughout sensitive areas to enhance thermal insulation and noise suppression. The 6-branch exhaust manifold of the Hayward & Scott sports exhaust system features Zircoflex ceramic coating, reducing under-bonnet temperatures significantly. The suspension was meticulously designed to maintain lightweight E-Type geometry, featuring premium Reiger shock absorbers. Zeus calipers, Greenstuff brake pads, RBR anti-roll bars, and standard torsion bars provide optimal performance while preserving the car's inherent balance. The lightweight E-Type specification wheels offer convenience with their bolt-on design.

Mick and Chris Turley from MCT Restorations showcased their masterful craftsmanship in creating an exquisite interior. Thoughtful additions include heated front and rear screens, with a blue-tinted front screen emphasizing elegance. The car also boasts footwell lighting, discreet rear fog lamps, and a modern sound system with Bluetooth connectivity. The impeccable execution of this project would not have been possible without the unparalleled expertise of renowned engineer John 'Bilko' Lawrence. Every detail of the transformation has been meticulously documented in Jaguar World magazine, affirming the meticulous care and attention lavished upon this remarkable creation.
