Description

A very early ‘1961 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Flat Floor 3.8 OTS’ and it's spectacular.

Fully restored Series One 3.8 Flat Floor E-Type, first registered in the UK in December 1961.

The car has undergone a complete 'nut and bolt' restoration that took nearly four years to complete from start to finish, full engine rebuild, new hood and interior and brakes upgrade.

With many Classic Cars it is the first of the Series that is considered most collectible due to the purity in design and lower production numbers, in the case of the Jaguar E-Type this is certainly true.

Legend has it that when it went on display for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in 1961, none other than Enzo Ferrari remarked that the E-Type (or XKE. in the US) was the most beautiful car he’d ever seen and he knew a pretty car when he saw one - he certainly wasn’t the only one and many are saying the same thing some sixty years later. Designed by a noted aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer, the E-Type was meant to cheat the wind, but its glass covered headlights, long hood, short rear deck and curvaceous lines also look great.
